R E C T O R

OF MARIA CURIE-SKŁODOWSKA UNIVERSITY (UMCS) IN LUBLIN, POLAND

announces a competition for the position of University Professor in the group of research and teaching staff in the Department of International Relations at the Institute of Political Science and Administration at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism at UMCS

 

The competition may be entered by individuals who meet the requirements specified in the Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 85) and in the UMCS Statute of May 29, 2019, as amended.

I. THE COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

- graduation from an English-speaking foreign university and PhD degree awarded by such a university in the field of political science;

- significant scientific achievements and active participation in scientific life in the field of political science, with particular emphasis on contemporary international relations, their theories and methodology, or international security;

- teaching and organizational experience in higher education;

- native or fluent non-native English speakers are requested;

- experience in the implementation of research projects confirmed by obtained grants;

- predisposition to research and teaching, confirmed by an appropriate opinion of the head of the department or

an academic teacher holding an academic title or an academic degree of doctor habilitated.

II. THE COMPETITION APPLICATION SHOULD INCLUDE:

- an application requesting employment addressed to the Rector of UMCS;

- a certified copy of the PhD diploma;

- a personal questionnaire and curriculum vitae;

- a list of scientific publications;

- a list of scientific, teaching and organizational achievements;

- a declaration of compliance with the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 85);

- a candidate's declaration that UMCS will be their primary workplace;

- a candidate's declaration that they agree to the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation);

- references, opinion about predispositions for research/teaching.

III. THE CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- full-time employment under an employment contract for an indefinite period from October 1, 2021, in the primary workplace.

The deadline for submitting documents is June 15, 2021.

The competition will be adjudicated no later than June 21, 2021.

The interview may be conducted remotely.

 

The university does not provide housing.

The settlement of the competition does not result in establishing an employment relationship. The decision on employment is made by the Rector. The University reserves the right to close the competition without a decision.

 

Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin with its registered seat in Lublin at Plac im. Marii Curie - Skłodowskiej 5, 20-031 Lublin (hereinafter: UMCS) informs that personal data of candidates for employment shall be processed for recruitment purposes only.

Candidates are required to provide data in the scope resulting from Article 22 of the Labour Code and specific provisions concerning employment in a given position. Providing data in a broader scope than required by the provisions is voluntary. The basis for data processing is the law and consent, in relation to data exceeding the area resulting from the provisions.

In accordance with Article 7 paragraph 3 of the General Data Protection Regulation, in relation to data exceeding the scope provided for by law, the data subject has the right to withdraw their consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

In accordance with Articles 15 to 21 and Article 77 of the General Data Protection Regulation, the data subject has the right to access, rectify, delete or limit processing, and the right to object to the processing, as well as to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, as well as the right to transfer data. The collected personal data will not be sold or made available to third parties, except for those authorized under the law, nor will they be transferred to third countries or international organizations, contrary to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation.

The data will be processed by UMCS during the recruitment period, and in the case of data processed on the basis of consent, until a possible objection is raised or consent is withdrawn, and after that time for archival purposes, in accordance with UMCS procedures, as well as for the purposes and for the period and in to the extent required by law to secure any claims.
