The Leibniz Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN) based in Dummerstorf near Rostock (Germany) is a foundation under public law. Assignment of the institute with about 300 employees is basic and applied research in the field of the biology of agriculturally important farm animal species.
The Institute of Genetics and Biometry invites applications for the position of a
Statistical Scientist and Counsellor (m/f/d) in the field of Biometry
for a limited period of 4 years with the option of entering into a tenure track procedure.

The applicant will provide statistical expertise (planning and design of experiments, data analysis and interpretation of results) to researchers of all disciplines at the FBN.
Own research is expected to cover specific questions arising from counselling as well as significant contributions to statistical projects initiated by the Institute of Genetics and Biometry.
Equal shares of the total working hours will be devoted to each of both tasks.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated and has earned a PhD/doctoral degree in Biostatistics or Mathematics or comparable. The ability to tune in to the needs of a broad variety of researchers from different fields and research topics is mandatory. We further expect strong engagement in application for third-party grants and steady publication of research findings. Working languages are German and English.
