OFFER DESCRIPTION

The Plant Molecular Biology Laboratory offers a possibility for one post-doc position at the Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology. The successful candidate will be involved in the Sonata-Bis 9, NCN, research project "Molecular insight into the mechanism of peroxisome degradation via autophagy in land plants" aiming to understand the molecular mechanisms of degradation system of peroxisomes via autophagy by using a general model plant Arabidopsis and one of the basal lineages of Marchantia polymorpha. We are seeking a motivated candidate interested in our project based on plant physiology and molecular cell biology. Background in molecular biological experiments with Marchantia polymorpha will be an advantage.

The position is a full-time postdoc position.

The salary is around 12000 PLN (in gross-gross).

  6. Information regarding classes taught by a candidate, if applicable,
  7. Form of the latest interim evaluation, if a candidate was evaluated,
  8. Opinion of the head of department or academic tutor on candidate’s suitability for teaching classes (including results of students’ questionnaires, if a candidate was assessed in this manner) and his/her academic activity,
  9. Statement declaring that Jagiellonian University will be the basic place of employment in the case of being employed in the competition procedure.
  10. Statement – in accordance with Article 113 of the Act Law on higher education and science.
  11. Statement regarding acquaintance and acceptance of intellectual property rules as well as legal protection of intellectual property.

  • REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL
    Biological sciences: Master Degree or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

For the post of assistant researcher may apply persons who fulfil the requirements stated in Article 113, 116 (2) (4) of the Act of 20th July 2018 Law on higher education and science and meet the following qualification requirements:

 

  • hold at least a master’s degree, engineering degree or an equivalent degree,
  • prepared an outstanding master’s degree thesis confirmed by opinion of academic tutor or doctoral thesis confirmed by high grade,

Specific Requirements

The ideal candidate should:

  1. have a master’s degree in biology, biotechnology or a related field
  2. have experience with molecular and cell biology analyses in plants
  3. have experience with Techniques of DNA, RNA and protein extraction, PCR, qPCR and western blotting
  4. have good communication and writing skills in English
  5. be interested in experiments and scientific works related to plant cell biology
  6. have the ability to construct hypotheses, work independently and think analytically
  7. be willing to learn new techniques and new fields
  8. experience with confocal microscopy and bioimaging will be an advantage
