OFFER DESCRIPTION

The person employed in this position will be responsible for running:

- didactic classes in the field of Environmental Engineering and Environmental Protection Technologies, particularly: protection and physicochemical characterization and processes in the atmosphere, including methods of monitoring, meteorological research, geostatistical analyzes and modelling of transport of particulate matter and gaseous pollutants in the atmosphere, analysis of measurement data, methods of removal pollution, including odor-generating, and environmental studies;

- scientific research in the field of engineering and technical sciences, in the discipline of environmental engineering, mining and energy, and the implementation of substantive tasks in the field of environmental protection and climate change issues to solve the problems of human influence on the surrounding natural environment.

 

Tasks to be done:

- education and upbringing of students;

- organizing and conducting scientific research in the disciplines of environmental engineering, mining and energy;

- participation in the preparation and conducting of mobile and stationary measurements of air pollution, operation of automatic measurement stations, collection, analysis and interpretation of measurement datasets (meteorological and air quality);

- conducting classes for full- and part-time students in Polish or English (in the form of lecture, exercise, laboratory classes and project), incl. in the field of assessment of the variability of the chemical composition of the atmosphere, in particular greenhouse gas concentrations, and the improvement of measurement methods, inventory and reduction of gas emissions, including greenhouse gases, analyzes of meteorological conditions, based on the models of pollution dispersion in the atmosphere, methods of environmental data analysis with elements of geo-informatics, development of GIS systems in the field of monitoring and environmental protection, technical drawing

Selection process

The Committee may, without giving any reasons, request that the competition not be adjudicated and closed. Skills/Qualifications

The Candidate profile has to meet the following requirements (mandatory conditions):

- meet the conditions specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2018, item 1668) and in the Statute of Wrocław University of Science and Technology;

- doctoral degree in Technical Sciences;

- completed postgraduate studies in the following fields: environmental protection and geographic information systems;

Specific Requirements

- experience in conducting classes with students (higher education level) in various didactic forms; design exercises, laboratories and other didactic forms in the field of science related to engineering and environmental protection, methods of spatial data analysis, technical drawing;

- documented scientific achievements in the disciplines of environmental engineering or environmental engineering, mining and energy (publications from IF, LF, lists of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, other), including the assessment of greenhouse gas flux into the atmosphere on a local scale and methods of estimating the contribution of emission sources in carbon budget and life cycle assessment;

- experience in research and laboratory work in the disciplines of environmental engineering or environmental engineering, mining and energy (research reports, patents and others), both quantitative and qualitative analysis of atmospheric pollution sources ;

- confidence to conduct scientific research in the field of assessing anthropressure affecting the environment , including research on the transport of pollutants and the reconstruction of their sources, taking into account the odour quality of the air;

- experience in planning, preparing and conducting field research and measurements, including taking air gas samples, including conducting olfactometric measurements;

- experience in the analysis and interpretation of environmental data and handling of measurement databases;

- good knowledge of GIS tools, knowledge of statistical programs (eg Origin, R), knowledge of graphic programs (eg Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator);

- knowledge of Polish and foreign languages (at least English), as well as scientific and engineering software.
