The Institute for Biomedical Optics (BMO, Director: Univ.-Prof. Dr. Robert Huber) at the University of Lübeck, is seeking a
Postdoctoral researcher in the field of biomedical imaging/endoscopy (f / m / d)
(full-time, E13 TV-L)
The position is initially available for 2 year with a possible extension.
Task profile:
The position is associated with a newly established research group at BMO (AG Rahlves) which aims at the development of new micro-optical concepts including especially suited for endoscopic (3D) imaging. The responsibilities of the successful candidate include the development of novel optical concepts for endoscopic 3D imaging devices based on numerical and experimental design studies. The ultimate goal is the translation of concepts into clinical trials in close cooperation with the Medical Laser Center Lübeck (MLL), the University Medical Clinic Schleswig Holstein (UKSH) and the Cluster of Excellence "Precision Medicine in Chronic Inflammation" founded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
Qualification profile:
• PhD in physics or engineering
• Very good knowledge in optical simulations (raytracing, wave-optics)
• Experienced in design and application of micro-optical components
• Profound optical lab experience
Desirable, but not a prerequisite:
• Experience with 3D or analytical imaging modalities
• Experience in tissue imaging
• Basic knowledge of microsystems technology
