OFFER DESCRIPTION

To perform research work that fulfils the requirements of the project objective
To interpret and present research data and results
To ensure the validity and reliability of data at all times
To carry out scientific and methodological watch relative to the project
To present findings to colleagues and at conferences.
To write up the finding for submission to refereed journals
To take responsibility for organising resources and effective decision making in support of research.

Our aim is to understand how cancer driver mutations affect the assembly and function of ribosomes and can trigger malignancy phenomena.
To address this question, the candidate will mainly use structural biology approaches (cryo-EM and analysis of isolated particles, proteomics) which will then be integrated with other methodologies (NGS, RiboMethSeq) carried out by other members of the research consortium.

The position is based at the Center for Integrative Biology, Toulouse (CBI), which brings together more than 400 researchers involved in understanding fundamental biological processes at different scales: genome expression and dynamics, morphogenesis and development, cognition and behavior.
The candidate will benefit from the services of METi, the local electron microscopy platform, newly equipped with a Talos Arctica with a BioQuantum K2 direct electron detector and phase plates. He/she will also benefit from the nearby proteomics platform (ProFi, IPBS Toulouse). The candidate will work with Dr. Celia Plisson-Chastang for cryo-EM and SPA, and with Dr. Julien Marcoux for proteomic analysis. He/she will also interact strongly with the other members of the research consortium.
