OFFER DESCRIPTION
PhD position
available at the Institute of Virology,
Saarland University Medical Center, Homburg/Saar, Germany
Project: Organoids and virus-induced cancer
We are looking for a highly motivated co-worker with strong research interest in organoid or stem cell research, molecular virology and cancer.
This project focuses on the use of organoids for stem cell research in human papillomavirus-induced carcinogenesis. We established unique cell biology techniques including 3-dimensional organotypic and organoid tissue culture models, as well as molecular biology techniques, such as single cell sequencing and chromatin analyses now available for innovative papillomavirus and cancer research.
We provide an excellent international scientific environment. Both, the access to valuable patient material as well as close collaborations with the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research and the Leibniz Institute for New Materials facilitate translational research for novel therapies.
Candidates should have a strong background in cell biology, virology and cancer. Excellent English communication skills (written and oral) are expected. A sincere interest in molecular and translational research is a prerequisite. Applicants should hold a master, diploma or equivalent degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacy or a related discipline.
Application closes 15th April 2021.
Please send your application (pdf) including a motivation letter, CV, a statement of research experiences and the names of 2 references via e-mail to sigrun.smola@uks.eu.
