The person selected will join the UOC Faculty of Arts and Humanities' teaching team, working in the Centre for Modern Languages.

 

Responsibilities:

UOC faculty, in their respective fields of expertise, promote and direct distance learning. Particular attention must be given to the preparation of programmes of study, course contents and teaching materials, as well as the supervision and coordination of students' learning processes. Faculty members are also responsible for driving innovation, especially in terms of methods and techniques used in distance learning and research activities in their fields of expertise.

The successful candidate will be awarded an open-ended, full-time contract. Scheduled start date: July or September 2021.

The workplace will be the UOC's 22@ campus, Rambla del Poblenou 156, Barcelona.

Specific Requirements

What we are looking for:

● PhD in teaching French as a foreign language, in second-language acquisition, in French language and literature, or in another related field.

● Master's degree in teaching French as a foreign language, in second-language teaching, or in another related field.

● Native speaker (or equivalent level) of French.

● At least five years' experience teaching French as a foreign language.

● Experience in online teaching.

● Minimum CEFR level C1 in a language other than French, Spanish or Catalan.

● Excellent command of second language teaching methods, including the planning and development of learning activities.

● Publications in the field of computer-assisted language learning (CALL), second language acquisition (SLA) or related fields.

● Skills and experience coordinating and leading teams.

● Desire to work in a dynamic and innovative environment.

● High level of initiative and receptiveness in seeking continuous improvement.

● Motivation for getting involved in applied research and innovation in the line of the Centre for Modern Languages' teaching activities

Also of interest:

● Teaching experience of another foreign language, other than French.

● Experience coordinating or participating in funded research or innovation projects.

● Theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the assessment of language learning.

● Periods spent researching or teaching abroad.

● Formal accreditation of teaching and research career.

● Knowledge of the UOC's educational model.

 

If they do not have Spanish or Catalan language skills equivalent to CEFR level B2, the successful candidate must commit to attaining this level within two years, in either or both of these languages.
