The Center for Advanced Intelligence Project has been launched with subsidy from Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology-Japan for “Advanced Integrated Intelligence Platform Project (AIP) -Artificial Intelligence/ Big Data/ Internet of Things/ Cybersecurity-".
The Center conducts fundamental theoretical research and develops an innovative technology, with aiming to advance science and contribute to society or humanity.
This Center is a project with a maximum of 10 years from FY 2016.

Opening for Postdoctoral Researcher, one position

Postdoctoral Researcher: Carries out research and other work in accordance with team research themes under the direction of supervisors. Basically, defined as those with a doctoral degree of 5 years or less.

Job description:
Job purpose: Contribute to the achievement of the goals of the Robotics for Infrastructure Management Team focusing on the project externally funded by Moonshot Research and Development Program, "Innovation in Construction of Infrastructure with Cooperative AI and Multi-Robots Adapting to Various Environments (PM: Keiji Nagatani)." In the project, the team aims at developing an AI system for assessing and understanding various artificial or natural environments, including infrastructure structures, natural disaster sites etc. The system can comprehensively understand the environment, i.e., the state of various structures, media, etc., based on the various sensor inputs provided by robots, etc. Thereby, it supports human decision making and/or provides useful information for autonomous robots to perform various tasks in such environments.
Duties: Perform research for achieving the team goal, such as the development of deep-learning-based methods and systems for the above AI system.
