OFFER DESCRIPTION

EpiSyStem ITN - The Epigenetics and Systems Biology of Stem Cells and Reprogramming - is an EU funded Innovative Training Network (ITN). We offer 2 funded PhD position:

1. Michiel Vermeulen's lab at Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands, to study (epi)genetic regulation of gene expression in (differentiated) embryonic stem cells. In the project, various omics approaches (next generation sequencing, (interaction) proteomics) will be used as well as advanced cell culture models such as gastruloids.

2. Geneviéve Almouzny's lab at Institut Curie, Paris, France, on the subject of "Pathways to establish and maintain chromosomal landmarks: Dynamics of histone chaperones and histone variants". Background in bioinformatics / computational work is required.

EpiSyStem comprises leading academic and industrial partners and combines chromatin biology in stem cells, early embryos and reprogramming, including the modelling of human neurological, chromatin-related diseases with bioinformatics, epigenetics/epigenomics, and systems biology at the population and single-cell / single embryo level. We offer a multidisciplinary approach, profound training and deep, systems-level understanding of chromatin biology and epigenetic regulation of stem cells, differentiation and reprogramming. The successful applicant will join a competitive training program and will enjoy exchange programs, workshops on emerging topics in stem cell epigenetics and bioinformatics, international conferences and meetings, and much more.

Eligibility: at the time of recruitment, applicants must not have resided or carried out work, studies, research etc., in France for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the reference date.

To apply: please send your CV, two references and a lab-specific motivation letter to episystem@mail.huji.ac.il .
