OFFER DESCRIPTION

The object of the research activity will be to study cellular and serological markers of the metastatic process of carcinomas. Experimental models (human neoplastic cell cultures and organotypic cell cultures designed to recreate the tumor microenvironment), tumor biopsies and biological fluids of cancer patients will be employed to evaluate the pro- or anti-metastatic activities of cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix adhesion receptors, molecules of the cytoskeleton, proteolytic enzymes, chemotactic agents, mediators of glucose and lipid metabolism, growth and differentiation factors. Particular attention will be paid to the promoters of epithelium-mesenchymal transdifferentiation, neoplastic invasiveness and tumor-associated angiogenesis. The studies will be completed by evaluating in vitro and ex vivo the effect that antineoplastic drugs have on the expression and/or function of the most promising markers. http://web.uniroma2.it/module/name/Content/newlang/italiano/action/showp...
