OFFER DESCRIPTION
The CARMEN Innovative Training Network (ITN) “Communal Art – Reconceptualising Metrical Epigraphy Network" is looking for 4 highly motivated Early Stage Researchers (ESRs). The offered positions are available with a starting date in July 2021 for a maximum duration of 36 months.
Studying poetry in the epigraphic Roman tradition will help to regain an eminent body of European folk art tradition. We will edit texts, analyse sociolinguistic, aesthetic, and gender topics, and discuss regional phenomena in textual and material culture. Our multidisciplinary and intersectoral programme will enable the ESRs to engage in academic research of highest level, as well as in issues of cultural heritage, knowledge transfer and contemporary non-elite culture all over Europe. With our innovative focus on digital humanities and cultural heritage, the ESRs learn new strategies and methods of data management, and the use of modern cutting-edge technologies.
The CARMEN network includes 8 beneficiaries and 11 partner organisations involving institutions of research, digitalization and cultural heritage conservation as well as a publishing house from 7 European Countries: Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain.
