OFFER DESCRIPTION
Remote sensing observations have reached a level of accuracy and spatial-temporal resolution suitable for their exploitation in hydrological applications. The research activity of the cadnidate will address the exploitation of different satellite products/measurements (e.g., soil moisture, precipitation, evaporation, water storage) for different operational and research applications including flood and landslide prediction, irrigation estimation, and water resources management. The candidate, in agreement with the supervisor, will be free to select among the different research activities mentioned above. The candidate activity will be integrated in the research projects and studies carried out in the IRPI-Hydrology lab in friendly environment characterized by strong mutual collaborative and exchanges.

Eligibility criteria
Master Degree and PhD physics, engineering, geographic/cartographic sciences, hydrologic sciences, hydraulics or related areas, Geological Sciences. Previous experience in the hydrologic remote sensing methodologies and applications including but not limited to observational techniques (in situ and remote), and their combination in the form of scientific analyses, data assimilation, machine learning, and cloud- and/or high-performance-computing. Good level of English and some knowledge of Italian.

Selection process
The submitted applications will be evaluated by CNR. A reserve list of accepted applications will be set up. These candidates will be invited for an interview by e-mail at least 20 days before the interview. It is possible to do the interview by videoconference. The candidate must declare all the information to make the connection. During the connection the candidate has to show a valid identity document.
