The Vancouver Prostate Centre (VPC) has an exceptional opportunity available for a temporary, fulltime Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Zoubeidi Lab to join our research team.


The Vancouver Prostate Centre

The VPC has a large number of multi-disciplinary research programs in basic, clinic, and translational cancer research. It is a National Centre of Excellence and a designated Centre of Excellence for Commercialization and Research. It is affiliated with the University of British Columbia and the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. Further details on VPC and its research programs are available at www.prostatecentre.com.

Zoubeidi Lab

Dr. Amina Zoubeidi’s lab is focused on deciphering mechanisms of prostate cancer treatment resistance, with a particular emphasis on transcriptional and epigenetic plasticity. The lab is currently seeking applications for a talented, hard-working, independent, and highly motivated individual to join as a Postdoctoral fellow. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to study the interplay between epigenomics and transcriptional regulation in cell plasticity and emergent treatment-resistant prostate cancer. She/he will utilize multi-omic profiling techniques (including, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, and RNA-seq), which will be complemented by functional studies of gene function in vitro and in vivo.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in genetic and epigenetic profiling techniques is required.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computation experience is considered an asset, but is not required for this position.
