The PostDoctoral Fellow will perform cutting-edge research to develop 3D-bioprinted salivary gland model to decipher the physiopathology of diseases. PhD candidates will perform their research in an intellectually stimulating and multi-disciplinary environment.

Eligibility criteria
The applicant should have a Master and a PhD thesis in the field of medicine, biological sciences, chemical engineering or biological engineering. We are looking for a highly motivated person with strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, biomaterial synthesis, and cell biology who should be able to satisfy most of the following requirements.
Languages: French and English.

Skills/Qualifications

The applicant should be able to satisfy most of the following requirements:
Essential:
- Have completed a relevant PhD within the last 2 years.
- Strong scientific background and publication record.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Be highly motivated and organized.
- Be motivated to conduct interdisciplinary and translational research in close collaboration with people of distinct expertise.
- Possess experience in cell culture – including stem cells, 3D cell bioprinting and tissue engineering.
- Flexibility to travel overseas will be considered as an advantage.
- Languages: French (good) and English (excellent).
Specific Requirements
Candidates can be EU or Non-EU citizens. Candidate will have to travel overseas to ensure technology transfer. Candidates must have spent one year outside Belgium in the past three years.
Expertise and technical skills :
- Stem cells & regenerative medicine.
- Advanced cell-culture and tissue engineering techniques (e.g., organoids, 3D bioprinting, etc.).
- Bioprinting techniques, such as extrusion and DLP.
- Biomaterials, e.g., hydrogel and scaffold design, synthesis and characterization
- Immuno-histo/-cyto chemistry, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry/FACS, and RNAseq, cell live / death assays.
- In vivo models, imaging, and tissue evaluation
- Preparation of bioactive compounds and hydrogels.
- Physicochemical techniques including SEM, FTIR, rheology.
