General information

  • Workplace: Aubervilliers (Condorcet Campus), no travel required
  • Type of contract: fixed term contract
  • Contract period: 12 months (with the possibility of a 6-month extension)
  • Expected hiring date: mid-April/ May 2021
  • Work quota: full time or 75% if desired

Supervisor: Sandrine de Montgolfier, Research Laboratory IRIS (Institute of Interdisciplinary Research on Social Issues - UMR 8156 CNRS - 997 INSERM - EHESS - USPN - Campus Condorcet), Associate Professor in epistemology and biomedical ethics at Paris Est Creteil University

The candidate will participate in two research projects dealing with the ethical, sociological and psychological issues of cancer risk assessment and the transformations of the medical environment associated with the development of these new approaches. The projects integrate quantitative surveys to be developed by the candidate in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team with:

  • The construction of the quantitative questionnaires
  • The drafting of a detailed methodological protocol for submission to ethics committees
  • The online submission of the questionnaires and their submission
  • Statistical analysis of the questionnaires
  • Report writing
  • Scientific valorization

The candidate will participate in the various project management bodies and will be involved in the life of the IRIS laboratory. He/she could participate in the co-organization of an international and multidisciplinary symposium on the issue of children in research involving new technologies.

Required skills:

  • The candidate holds a PhD in sociology, public health, in medical ethic or other fields of the social sciences and humanities with an experience in the use of quantitative methodologies.
  • Fluency in English will be required (European project with 5 different countries).
  • Advanced mastery of quantitative data processing techniques and software (experience in online questionnaire design, mastery of R software or equivalent is necessary).
  • The ability to work independently while integrating a multidisciplinary research team will be a strong point.
  • Survey experience in the health field will be desirable but not mandatory.
