Post-doctoral for Polymer Chemistry

In order to dissolve ocean pollution by plastics, Prof. Kohsaka, an associate professor in Shinshu University, is challenging to develop plastics with controlled biodegradability by external chemical and/or other stimuli. The project aims multi-locked degradable plastics prepared from nonedible biomasses.

Developments of nonedible biomass-based polymers containing degradable units triggered by chemical, light or other external stimuli under Prof. Kohsaka's supervision. Monomer design from organic chemistry and polymerization design from macromolecular chemistry are keys to achieve theses goals.
