The Hokkaido University Institute for Genetic Medicine (IGM), which is authorized to be a Joint usage/research center for research on cancers developed by persistent infection with bacteria or viruses (infection-associated cancers) by MEXT, consists of three research sections (12 divisions), one frontier research unit, one endowed department and two affiliated facilities. Because it is an institute, IGM students join as students of the Hokkaido University Graduate School of Medicine or Graduate School of Life Sciences (http://www.igm.hokudai.ac.jp/).
IGM is now seeking one suitable candidate for the positions of Professor in a newly-established division. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct world-leading studies on basic medical science and/or basic life science including immunology and cancer biology. He/she will also be responsible for the education of graduate students.
He/she will be given a budget to hire one assistant professor immediately after hiring.

Salary:The salary will be determined in accordance with the regulations of Hokkaido University.
Working hours:Discretionary labor system for professional work *The working hours for a day is deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes.
