Public selection for the recruitment of 2 Researchers under art. 24, paragraph 3, letter a) of Law 30 December 2010, no. 240.
Place of employment: Department of Mathematical, Physical and Computer Sciences
Maximum number of publications that the candidate may submit: 12 (twelve)
Required language skills: english The research activity will take place in the field of physics applied to cultural and environmental heritage, in particular in relation to the characterization of materials of interest in archaeometry, history and arts, including innovative materials for protection and restoration. The research will also concern mineral phases of particular environmental importance (nano-particulate components, sediments, asbestos, phases linked to the carbon cycle, etc.) and the related transformation processes. The research activity will be carried out using Raman and micro-Raman spectroscopy as the main technique, supported by other techniques such as infrared absorption, X-ray diffraction, optical and electron microscopy. The researcher will have to interpret the experimental data in relation to the most recent literature. It will also have to interact with competence with the various figures involved in the knowledge and conservation of cultural heritage.The research should lead to high-level scientific publications in journals with wide international relevance, to presentations at international conferences and to participation in research projects. The teaching commitment will cover both basic courses and specialized courses in the field of physics applied to cultural and environmental heritage. Depending on the didactic needs, the researcher will have to undertake these commitments in the first-level degree, in the master degree or in doctoral courses.
Teaching may include lectures, tutorials, support in any other forms of student instruction, grading and evaluation of papers and evaluation of final exams, on the subjects and topics covered by the contract. Frontal instruction for up to 120 hours is required, according to university regulations.
