OFFER DESCRIPTION

Position of a specialist within a NAWA-Chair project "From the Achaemenids to the Romans: Contextualizing empire and its longue-durée developments”

  • the specialist will be responsible for all administrative work within the project and other research projects funded by grants awarded to the members of the research group of the NAWA-Chair project;
  • she/he will also be co-organizing seminars and conferences for the duration of the NAWA-Chair project and co-editing conference acts.

Remuneration : ca. 3200,- PLN per month.

Selection process

Required documents:

  • a CV containing a detailed description of professional experience;
  • a copy of PhD diploma in the area of history or classical philology;
  • the certificates of experience in organization of international science conferences;
  • a PDF form listing the title pages of conference files edited or co-edited by the candidate;
  • the certificates of experience in providing administrative services for scientific projects in the field of humanities financed by means of a competition;
  • the information about mobility;
  • the information about languages command.

  • REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL
    History: PhD or equivalent
  • REQUIRED LANGUAGES
    ENGLISH: Excellent
    POLISH: Excellent

Skills/Qualifications

  • a PhD within the field of (broadly defined) classical studies/ancient history;
  • a very good knowledge of English and Polish language;
  • a substantial international experience and good knowledge of Polish system of higher education;
  • a record of attending three semesters in academic institutions outside of Poland (for Polish citizens);
  • a record of attending at least three semesters in academic institutions in Poland prior to filling an application (for applicants from out of Poland);
  • at least 4 years of administrative experience in running a research project in humanities in Poland, preferably within the field of broadly defined classical studies/ ancient history and preferably international in nature;
  • substantial experience in organizing international conferences, from advertising, through logistics, to publishing acts.
