[Job summary]
We are looking for an applicant, who will be appointed as an Assistant Professor in Geology and actively carries out research and education in Applied geology, Engineering geology, or Geophysics related to Natural hazards and disaster mitigation.
You will be expected:
To contribute to activities of the Center for the Natural Disaster Reduction Research and Education (https://ndrre-shimane-u.com/english).
To assist management of UNESCO Chair seminars/schools and to support collaborative partnerships with other educational institutions (https://www.geo.shimane-u.ac.jp/unesco-chair/).
The classes you will be expected to teach are listed below.
(1) Undergraduate program (Most are shared classes by multiple teachers):
Natural Disaster Science, Disaster Prevention Science, Experiments for Geo-disaster Engineering, Exercises for Natural Disaster Science, Exercise in Earth Science II (Exercise in Geologic Mapping), Basic Exercise in Earth Science, Graduation Thesis, Seminar in Earth Science I, II, Reading Seminar in Earth Science I, II, etc.
(2) Master's program:
Earth and Geoenvironmental Science, Seminar, Thesis Research, etc.

Remuneration Annual Salary System:
Salary amount is decided by the Rules of Remuneration of Faculty Member of National University Corporation Shimane University. Various allowances including the retirement allowance paid at the time of retirement are offered. The Rules of Remuneration of Faculty Member are subject to revision.
