OFFER DESCRIPTION

Requirements:

1. The applicant must meet all the criteria set by the National Science Centre for post-doc employment.

The successful candidate is expected to possess:

1. doctoral degree in the field of social sciences or humanities and doctoral dissertation on Greek, Roman or Byzantine history;

2. excellent knowledge of Latin and Ancient Greek;

3. very good knowledge of English;

4. documented experience in the field of documentary papyrology, among others, papyri editions, or similar discipline;

5. good knowledge of Roman law;

6. high working ethics.

Good knowledge of Coptic or/and at least one of the following languages – French, German or Italian – is very welcome.

Tasks description:

1. collecting and analysis of papyri from Aphrodito;

2. collecting and analysis of juridical sources;

3. entering data into a database;

4. analysis of assigned legal phenomena and tools;

5. publication of results achieved.

NCN scheme: OPUS

Full-time fixed-term employment for two years is offered. Prolongation for next two years is possible.

The date of commencement of tasks: 15 March 2021.
