Call of the University of Genova DR 5264, 21.12.2020, programme n. 22

“Archaeology of sharing practices: archaeological, documentary and oral sources for the reconstruction of the process of marginalisation of European mountains, with particular reference to the Basque Country (18th-21thc.)

The post-doctoral fellowship is related to the ERC Stg 2019- ANTIGONE project (PI Anna Maria Stagno) focused on the study of the process of marginalisation of the European rural societies since the 18th c., through the investigation of the changes in sharing practices (practices to share environmental resources), with a multidisciplinary approach including archaeology, environmental archaeology, archival research and oral history. The PDR will contribute to the archival research on conflicts about environmental resources (WP1), to landscape archaeology investigations (WP2) with particular reference to the Basque Country and, in case of renewal, to environmental archaeological investigations (WP4). Specific training is planned, if necessary, to complete the required competencies.

The PDR will collaborate with the research group of the Laboratory of Environmental Archaeology and History (interdipartimental centre DAFIST-DISTAV) .

Selection process

CV and Track record evaluation

The examinations shall take place by videoconference and aim to ascertain the candidate's preparation, experience and aptitude for research. They shall consist of: - assessment of the qualifications submitted; - an interview, on the subjects specified by the Announcement and listed, for each research program, in Annex A to the same Announcement.

The interview is aimed to evaluate the candidate experience in landscape archaeology (broadly considered, thus including rural, agrarian and mountain archaeology) and environmental archaeology, in archival research, and their aptitude to critical analysis and discussion, interdisciplinary research and team work.

Additional comments

The PDR will participate to the ANTIGONE research project and will collaborate with the research group of the Laboratory of Environmental Archaeology and History (interdipartimental centre DAFIST-DISTAV) at the University of Genova.
