The Natural Products Drug Discovery Group (Dr. Yuta Tsunematsu and Prof. Kenji Watanabe) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Shizuoka is looking for personnel involved in molecular and cellular biology experiments for the AMED research project " Development of anti-amoebic dysentery drug stand on complexity generating chem/biological hybrid biosynthesis" that is launched in December 2020.

(1) Culture and maintenance of mammalian cells
(2) Evaluation of drug efficacy on mammalian cells (cell toxicity, RNA extraction for RNA-seq analysis, Western blotting, etc.)
(3) Genetic recombination of mammalian cells using CRISPR-Cas9 system
(4) DNA work, including gene cloning (if necessary)
Basically, you will be asked to assist in cell and molecular biology experiments as described above, but you may also be asked if you were experienced or interested in the experiments raised below: animal experiments, preparation of recombinant protein, in vitro enzyme activity testing, operation of next generation sequencing equipment (Miseq in our laboratory), dry analysis of NGS data, engaging in the generation of genetically modified microorganisms (budding yeast and filamentous fungi) and the fermentation and production of natural products for drug discovery. As we have a wide range of research ranging from biology to chemistry, you are welcome to join us in your area of expertise, or challenge yourself to acquire technology in a new research field.

Depends on the university's regulations (approximately 200,000 yen per month). This does not apply to postdoctoral researchers. Social security and unemployment insurance are applicable.
Working days and hours:
4-5 days a week (weekdays only), 9am to 4pm (depending on the consultation).
Sundays, Saturdays, holidays, New Year's Day (December 29 to January 3), summer vacation (about a week), and others, depending on the consultation.
The contract will be renewed every year after the start date of the contract, but only upon mutual agreement.
Renewal of the contract will be determined by the following Ability, workload, work performance, work attitude, progress of the project and budget at the expiration of the contract.
