Faculty of Electrical, Information and Communication Engineering (EIC), Institute of Science and Engineering has been conducting advanced research related to signal processing and information processing technology in order to acquire maximum meaningful information with limited resources and/or to extract important knowledge from sparse data. These technologies are expected to be applied to the research area promoted by the Advanced Research Center for Space Science and Technology (ARC-SAT), where micro-satellites and onboard instruments are studied and developed for the measurement of solar-terrestrial environment or global monitoring from space. EIC is the core organization of Kanazawa University engaging in research and education in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and network system such as Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cyber security, to which the technologies described above are applied. EIC invites applications for associate professor position by excellent female researchers in the advanced research area of Communication and Information Engineering.

Field of specification:
Advanced research area of Communication and Information Engineering

Advanced research area related to signal processing and information processing technology in order to acquire maximum meaningful information with limited resources and/or to extract important knowledge from sparse data (sparse modeling, compressed sensing, inverse problem analysis, radio wave application/radio wave measurement, noise reduction, digital signal processing etc.) The candidate will be required to belong to the research group "Advanced research on space science and engineering using scientific satellite" and contribute to the development of technology that enables measurement of the solar-terrestrial environment or global monitoring from space using scientific satellites. The candidate will be also in charge of education and supervision for students who major in space science and engineering as a concurrent faculty member of the Advanced Research Center for Space Science and Technology (ARC-SAT).

Lecture and experiment on subjects associated with computer and programming (machine learning, numerical calculation and computer simulation), signal processing, radio wave engineering and satellite communication engineering both for undergraduate course and graduate course
