The EU Tax Observatory is a new organization dedicated to conducting, promoting, and disseminating innovative, high-quality, and impactful research on EU taxation. It is directed by Prof. Gabriel ZUCMAN and is hosted at the Paris School of Economics. In 18 months, we expect to establish the Observatory as the leading reference for the study of taxation in the European Union (with a focus on corporate tax avoidance and tax evasion); a platform for civil society engagement with strong name across the European Union; a source of new ideas for combating tax avoidance and evasion; and an international reference for the study of taxation in a globalized word. The EU Tax Observatory is co-financed by the European Commission.
PSE – Paris School of Economics is a private non-profit research foundation. PSE develops economic research of the highest international standard and disseminates the results. It brings together a community of 140 researchers and around 200 PhD students, and offers teaching in Masters, PhD, Summer School and Executive Education programs at the cutting edge of the discipline. Now firmly established as a feature on the global academic landscape, PSE breaks down all kinds of barriers to attain its goal of excellence: it brings together universities and grandes écoles, promotes exchanges between economics and the other social sciences, delivers its scholarship to a broad public, and supports the work of its teams in multiple partnerships with public institutions and private organisations.
As part of the establishment of the Observatory, we are currently looking for an Associated Researcher.
Description:
This position involves conducting research on taxation, with a focus on corporate taxation, tax evasion, and tax policy simulations. The Associated researcher will build economic models and analyze economic data, write research papers, present research findings to relevant audiences in specialized workshops and conferences as well as events organized by the Observatory, write policy briefs summarizing key findings.
Main tasks and responsibilities include:
- Conducting research on taxation
- Communicate research findings to relevant stakeholders

Skills/Qualifications
You should fulfill the following requirements:
- Master or PhD in economics or any relevant field.
- Be able to work in an international environment.
- Work well in a team, but also operate well independently.
- Perfect command of English.
- An experience with a similar position in a research or policy institution is a plus
