Danube University Krems
The Danube University Krems is the leading university for continuing education in Europe. It is the only public university for continuing education in the German-speaking area specializing in the higher qualification of professionals and is dedicated to teaching and research to meet current and future social challenges. Around 8,000 students from over 80 countries are currently enrolled in part-time Master's programmes and short programmes.
To strengthen our team in the Department for Migration and Globalization (Faculty of Business and Globalization), the following position will be filled:
Research fellow – migration and integration research (m/f/d)
min. 32 hours/week

Your tasks
- Research and scientific project collaboration within the Horizon 2020 project easyRights (www.easyrights.eu)
- Cooperation and communication in a European research project
- Publication of research results in internationally peer-reviewed journals and other publication formats
- Participation in project development, project management and project-related organizational activities
- Occasional support in other activities of the migration department (teaching, organisation of events, occasional involvement in other projects)
The following criteria must be met:
- Master degree in a field of social science (e.g. political science, sociology, psychology, economics)
- Very good knowledge of migration and integration research
- Good knowledge of research methodology and (quantitative and qualitative) research methods
- Several years of professional experience in social science research
- Experience and ability to work in project-based research teams
- Very good written and spoken English skills (min. B2)
The following criteria are desirable:
- PhD/Doctorate in a social science field
- Experience in scientific international project management, proven in the cross-sectional area between research, teaching and practice
- Methodological competence in evaluation research
- Experience in digitisation research (application of ICT in integration processes and practices)
- German language skills
Your perspective
- Part-time employment (min. 32 hours/week) initially limited until 30.06.2022 with a minimum monthly gross salary of EUR 2,876.99 on a full-time basis (classification according to the service and salary regulations in W3/1), willingness to overpay if the employee has the appropriate qualifications and professional experience
