The Tokyo Metropolitan Geriatric Hospital and Institute of Gerontology conducts basic research on the mechanism of aging and controlling aging from the viewpoint of supporting research on the maintenance of the elderly health, prevention of aging and senile diseases, and development of diagnostic methods. We carry out social science research for disease prevention and care prevention through epidemiological surveys and social surveys.

[Job description]
Join the neurobiology of aging team at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology and conducted translational research. We will study how to ameliorate the degeneration of peripheral nerve synapses and neural circuits due to ALS and aging using stem cell therapy. Promote research projects in collaboration with laboratory members and collaborators in Japan and overseas.
Job description includes research activities using human-derived stem cells and rodents, and all activities related to research and laboratory management. The successful applicant is expected to commute to our institute and engage in experiments.

Benefits
The successful candidate will be employed for a term of one year (with renewal). Since the position is based on Kakenhi, s/he will work as a fixed-term employee with a maximum employment contract period of 2 years. It may be further extended depending on work attitude, performance, and the status of the Kakenhi.
・ 38 hours 45 minutes a week
・ 20 days of annual paid leave. However, the number of days granted varies depending on the month of hire.
