OFFER DESCRIPTION

The Polish Academy of Sciences is pleased to inform that the PASIFIC Call 1 is now open! 35 fellows will be selected to carry out their research at one of the PAS institutes. The deadline for applications is 30 June 2021.

The PASIFIC Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme is open to scholars of any nationality, representing all research disciplines. To be eligible to apply they must be in possession of a doctoral degree or have at least 4-year equivalent research experience. Also, they must comply with the MSCA mobility rule, meaning that they must have not lived or worked in Poland from more than 12 months during three years before the Call deadline (1 July 2018 - 30 June 2021).

Each PASIFIC fellow will be granted a monthly allowance of approx. €2,500 net and, if applicable, an additional family allowance. In addition, PASIFIC fellows will be provided with a research budget of up to €93,000 per project (€60,000 direct costs and 20% indirect costs).

Eligibility criteria

To apply for the PASIFIC Fellowship, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. At the deadline of the call, you must be in possession of at least a doctoral degree or four years of Full-Time Equivalent research experience. It means you should hold a degree entitling you to embark on a doctoral programme and have at least four years of a documented research experience.
     
  2. You must comply with the MSCA mobility rule. This means you must have not been a resident of Poland or carried out your main activities, including work and studies, in Poland for more than a year out of three years before the Call deadline.

Selection process

Before applying for the PASIFIC Fellowship, you need to identify a suitable PAS Institute and a Potential Supervisor, who commit to supporting your research.

Once they agree to facilitate your research at the Polish Academy of Sciences’ respective institute, you must obtain a Letter of Support signed by both the director of the host institute and the potential supervisor. Should your project be interdisciplinary, you can approach the second supervisor from the same or another Polish Academy of Sciences institute. In case your second supervisor is from the same institute, you will need only one Letter of Support with both supervisors’ statements. When your potential supervisors are based at two different institutes, you need to obtain two Letters of Support.

All interested applicants will be obliged to fill out the online application in the SEA System.

Additional comments

You can submit your proposal until 30 June 2021 through the online SEA System. The link to the System will be announced on 1 April 2021.
