OFFER DESCRIPTION
We will select two applicants that will investigate whether mutations in the Aire gene may have a functional consequence in thymic epithelial cells (mTECs), e.g., alteration in the transcriptome involving the generation of mRNA isoforms that encode tissue-specific antigens, alteration in cell-cell adhesion, and other molecular/biological functions either in vitro or in vivo in Mus musculus. The selected candidates will based in the University of São Paulo’s Ribeirão Preto Medical School, in Brazil.
Main requirements:
- Ph.D. in genetics or molecular biology or cell biology or biochemistry or immunology.
- Proven skills with:
1) Manipulation of anesthetized or not anesthetized mice;
2) Transcriptome analysis of mammalian cells, including the bioinformatics pipeline;
3) Cell culture and cell separation by flow cytometry;
4) Publications of articles in international peer-reviewed journals;
5) Proficiency in English with oral and written communication skills.
This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. Each selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
