OFFER DESCRIPTION
Human Brain Project research engineer position
Human Intracerebral Platform
Context
The human brain project (www.humanbrainproject.eu) is building a research infrastructure to help advance neuroscience, medicine, and computing. It is one of four FET (Future and Emerging Technology) Flagships, the largest scientific projects ever funded by the European Union. For its last funding period (2020-2023), in addition to the development of a common platform called EBRAINS (ebrains.eu), brain science is being distributed into 3 scientific work packages (WPs).
Two research engineer positions are open for developing the Human Intracerebral Platform (HIP), which is a new medical platform of EBRAINS co-led by Olivier David (Marseille, France) and Philippe Ryvlin (Lausanne, Switzerland). The objectives of HIP is to develop a European facility based on standard international open-source software solutions for human intracranial recordings, thereby facilitating the constitution of multicentre databases.
Within this project, the current research engineer positions under the direct supervision of Olivier David at INS will be devoted to the integration of open-source software solutions on HIP, using BIDS-iEEG as gold standard to make software inter-operability. Work will be carried out with the IT team of HIP based in Lausanne, but also with the groups of Christian Bénar and Viktor Jirsa (Marseille) and Jean-Philippe Lachaux (Lyon) who are also involved in the development of HIP.
