OFFER DESCRIPTION
A 24-month postdoc position is available at Sorbonne University (Paris, France) in the Applied Mathematics and Computer Science Labs (LJLL and LIP6), starting in September 2021 (or before at desired date if needed).
Main fields covered: optimal control theory, computer algebra and polynomial system solving.
Application deadline : not later than May 1st 2021.
Requirements: PhD in less than 6 years on topics related to optimal control theory or symbolic computation/computer algebra or polynomial system solving.
Skills and taste for computing and problem solving are welcome. English speaking is mandatory.
This postdoc position is funded by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research and supervised by Emmanuel Trélat and Mohab Safey El Din.

Skills/Qualifications
The applicants must be highly qualified in mathematics and have strong expertise in one or several of the topics below:
- Control theory
- Computer algebra (a.k.a. symbolic computation)
- Polynomial System Solving
The applicants are also expected to have some experience in using mathematical software either from the numerical world (such as Matlab, Scilab) or the symbolic computation world (such as Maple, Sage).
