Duties and responsibilities

  • Conducting and supervising research in immunological nanotechnology with a central task to use nanotechnological methods in immunological investigations (primarily using nanofibrous tissue scaffolds).
  • Directing a research theme or part thereof, a research project or research conducted under a research agreement.
  • Internationally recognised research in the volume equivalent to that of at least two doctoral theses is required in five years.
  • The effectiveness of the work is demonstrated amongst other things by their ability to secure research by additional funding.
  • Supervision of students, including PhD students, as well as giving lectures and seminars in immunology.

Required experience

  • The candidate is expected to have conducted internationally recognized research in immunology and nanotechnology.
  • The candidate is required to engage in research on a constant basis: within the last five years, he or she must have completed internationally recognized research equivalent to at least one doctoral thesis.
  • The candidate is expected to be successful in the participation of international research cooperation, including studies in EU Horizon 2020 programme and to have experience in successful patent applications.
  • A strong candidate for a position will have teaching experience (in Estonian and English) at a university and will have experience in supervising students, including being a supervisor for two successful PhD projects. 

Required language skills

Very good knowledge of Estonian in speech and writing. The candidate’s English skills must be sufficient for communication in his or her speciality.

Workload: 0,50.

  5. a statement not exceeding 1500 words of the aims to be achieved during the term in the position, and the outline of an action plan for achieving these.
