Dean of the Faculty of Geoengineering University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn
announces the competition
for a research position (assistant) in the Department of Environmental Biotechnology
within the project "Integrated System for Simultaneous Recovery of Energy, Organics and Nutrients and Generation of Valuable Products from Municipal Watewater”

The competition is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on higher education and science (i.e., Dz. U. of 2020, item 85 as amended) and the following eligibility criteria:

  • a holder of a second-degree diploma as well as a person who, at the time of application, holds a doctoral degree no longer than 7 years,
  • has to experience in laboratory work, in particular in the study of nucleic acids and extracellular polymers and programming skills using R and Python, knowledge of the basics of bioinformatics,
  • knowledge of the English language enabling free communication and preparation of scientific publications,
  • ability to work in a team.

Selection process

Information:

  • The documents should be submitted in person to the Secretariat of the Department of Biotechnology in Environmental Protection (ul. Słoneczna 45G, pok. 304, 10-709 Olsztyn) or electronically to: slawomir.ciesielski@uwm.edu.pl from 18 September 2020 until October 19, 2020, from 10.00-13.00.

  • The planned duration of employment on the position is 36 months.
  • Monthly salary is 5000 PLN.
  • The contest will be settled within 30 days from the deadline for submitting documents.
  • The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn reserves the right to cancel the contest by the Rector without giving reasons at every stage of the contest procedure.
  • The competition is a one-stage competition.
  • Candidates may be invited for an interview.
