OFFER DESCRIPTION
We are hiring two postdoctoral researchers, to work at the University of Barcelona, within the project Rethinking Conscious Agency, directed by Dr. Joshua Shepherd and funded by the European Research Council.
The areas of specialization are any of the following: empirically-informed philosophy of mind and action, philosophy of psychology, philosophy of neuroscience and/or philosophy of cognitive science.
The chief qualifications for the job are: fit with Dr. Shepherd’s research project and methodology, and ability to produce peer-reviewed publications.
The post-doctoral appointments will begin on 1 January 2021 (or as soon as possible thereafter, possibly as late as the summer), and will be for two years.
Post-doctoral researchers on this project will be expected to pursue their own research, as well as to engage in collaborative work with Dr. Shepherd, and to perform duties related to the project (e.g., the organization of workshops and conferences). As this is a research position, appointees will be expected to produce high-quality peer-reviewed publications.
Researchers will also have the opportunity to participate in the life of the philosophy department at the University of Barcelona, and the LOGOS research group. Although fluency in Catalan and/or Spanish is quite useful for life in Barcelona and at the University, this is not a requirement of the position. Talks at LOGOS are in English, and work on this project will be conducted in English as well.
