OFFER DESCRIPTION

The researcher will carry out a comprehensive study that will help to understand the reasons for the persistence of cultural models whereby women are still predominantly considered as wives and mothers, as was the case in the past. In ancient Rome, marriage and procreation of legitimate children, subject to the patria potestas, were the only possibility left to women honoratae to have a role in society, which was focused on the care, education of children and the transmission of values, in accordance with the tradition of the mores maiorum. The researcher will undertake an analysis consistent with the general goal pursued by the various research groups of which the applicant is member or coordinator, i.e. the inquiry into the various reasons that have so far prevented the full achievement of gender equality and awareness of an issue of great social as well as legal importance.
