The reserch fellow will be required to contribute to the study of the large and medium size
Renaissance bronzes preserved in the Museo Nazionale del Bargello. More precisely, the researcher will characterize
and study metal artefacts, from both a morphological and a compositional point of view, by analysing small samples
of metal alloys, as well as residual melting products, welds and patinas; moreover, the research will support the
general strategy of the project in terms of selection of artworks, of surface areas and of relevant chemical and
physical properties. The current research must be carried out in full collaboration with the Museum staff and with the
other members of the research group (teachers, researchers, research fellows, technical staff, administrative staff, etc.), including those belonging to different disciplinary sectors
Applications are invited from candidates who meet the following requirements:
a) to have completed a Master’s degree in Physics, Materials engineering, Materials sciences, Conservation of cultural heritage, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry (in accordance with earlier Italian university regulations, or a second-cycle undergraduate degree as per the interdepartmental decree of 9 July 2009); candidates who have completed the aforementioned degrees abroad may also apply, if said degrees are recognized as equivalent to Italian degrees.
b) not to be older than 36 years at the date of submission of the application.
Knowledge of English language is also required to carry out the activity.
