We offer an exciting 2-year postdoctoral position in the field of mathematical modeling and artificial intelligence for personalized anticancer medicine. The project aims to develop systems biology approaches combining bioinformatics, mathematical modeling based on differential equations and machine learning to personalize multi-agent chemotherapies. Methodologies will be designed to integrate transcriptomics, proteomics and drug screening datasets available in cell lines. The project focuses on two cancers with unmet needs: glioblastoma and pancreatic cancers. It aims to identify innovative drug combinations to be further tested in animal studies in our laboratory.
The position is open in the ATIP-Avenir team of Dr Annabelle Ballesta, a junior team of mathematicians hosted at INSERM, the French National Institute of Reseach for Health. The candidate will join a multidisciplinary and international environment with opportunities to interact with mathematicians, biologists and oncologists.
Preferred start date is between December 2020 and February 2021. Funding is available for two years.

- Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent in mathematics, bioinformatics, computer science, engineering or physics.
- Experience in mathematical modeling based on differential equations, preferably related to biological or medical sciences.
- Demonstration of computer simulation experience (Matlab/R/ Python/…)
- Experience with model parameter estimation and/or numerical optimization.
- Enthusiasm for working with biologists and oncologists.
