Competition for a research adjunct with doctoral degree

In the project NCN OPUS 18 nr 2019/35/B/HS3/02296

“MA-P Maloutena and Agora in the layout of Paphos:modelling the cityscape of the Hellenic and Roman capital of Cyprus”

Job requirements:

The successful candidate will fill requirements explicated in art.113 point 1 of the Higher Education Law (Law Journal 2020, item 85 amended), and the following:

1. having a doctoral degree in archaeology obtained not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in the project and the doctoral degree was not awarded by the entity in which employment is planned for this position

2. specialization in Roman table ceramics (including olive lamps)

3. experience in the field of Cypriot archaeology of the Hellenistic-Roman period

4. knowledge of Roman table ceramics from other centers of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Near East

5. experience in research in Cyprus

6. publications on the archaeology of Cyprus

Discipline : archaeology

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Preparing a study of selected Roman table ware (including olive lamps) connected with project’s aims (from the past research and the new research at the project).
  2. Participation in excavations at Pafos.
  3. Query and elaboration of archive materials (documentation at the PCMA) and preparing a collection of published material.
  4. An organizational work recommended by director of the project connecting with realization of it
  5. Other tasks recommended by the director of the project or the director of the PCMA.

The results of the competition will be announced by 07.09.2020 . It is the first stage of the employment process for academic teachers set down in the UW Statute; a positive result is essential to proceed further.

PCMA UW reserves the right to change the competition deadline and to

interview selected candidates. Candidates will be informed individually about

interview dates.

The amount of remumeration: 10 000 PLN gross/gross per month
