This research task regards the innovative application

of the generative models (GAN) for enhancing the performance of the

physics events selection algorithms. The main idea of the project would

be to build a generative network capable of producing events that are

very similar to the real ones. The main application of this approach

would benefit the analyses of very rare decay modes for which the

production of large data samples is very time-consuming. The second part

of the project is related to the work on the upgrade LHCb trigger

system. This, in turn, pertains to the commissioning of the specialised

tracking algorithm designed by the AGH LHCb group. The restart of the

data taking (so called Run 3) is planned in the late 2021 and early

2022.

Offer Requirements

Skills/Qualifications

C++ and Python language basic knowledge, Master degree in informatics, physics or related fields. Any experience in working as a part of a  team is expected.

Specific Requirements

The project requires to be based in Poland Krakow. Business trips to CERN Geneva are expected.
