OFFER DESCRIPTION

We are pleased to advertise an Early Stage Researcher (ESR) position to work in the area of microresonator frequency combs.

The position will be offered in one of the 11 member universities and companies in the Europe-based MSCA consortium:

MICROCOMB "Applications and Fundamentals of Microresonator Frequency Combs".

This is a full-time position (part-time option is also possible) for up to 8-months, which will allow the successful candidate to participate in a dynamic training and research programme of the consortium.

The European organisations, where this position can be held, are listed in the work location section. The list of countries includes Belgium, Germany, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. Applicants are welcome to express a preference for specific locations, but a recruitment committee will look into the suitability of applicants across all the Consortium.

Consortium provides training and research programme in the area of optical frequency combs in optical microresonators (microcombs). The network combines and shares some of the world-leading experience and expertise in photonics in general and in microcombs in particular. Our sub-projects address research and technology problems with interdisciplinary importance from the areas of precision frequency metrology, ultrafast data processing, nano-fabrication, optical to RF signal conversion, astronomical measurements and soliton physics. A programme of secondments and network-wide events will ensure the highest levels of cross-country and academia-industry mobility for our researchers. Soft-skills training events organised by such industrial consortium members as IBM, Menlo and AIRBUS will provide our researchers with career perspectives beyond their immediate research focus.
