OFFER DESCRIPTION

The Director of the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Slovak Academy of Sciences announces the following selection procedure for the position:

Recognized researcher at the Department of Superconductors

Job description: Experimental study and development of MgB2 superconductor with high engineering current density suitable for coil windings. Composite conductors with superconducting filaments are dominantly designed and manufactured by the internal diffusion of magnesium into boron process. Developed wires or wire joints have to carry high critical current densities without quenching and to withstand also sufficient tensile and bending strains related with coil winding. Demonstration superconducting coils will be done by “wind and react” and by “react and wind” process. Coils properties will be tested at the temperature range from 4.2 K up to 30 K in the external magnetic fields up to 10 T and also in persistent mode.
