Reference No. EE 2020/21

The Institute Solar Fuels is looking for

PhD student (f/m/d) (Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science)

Tasks

  • Investigations on electron dynamics and energetics of prototypical photoelectrode surfaces for photoelectrochemical hydrogen generation

  • Modification of the surface electronic and chemical properties of III-V compound semiconductor absorber systems

  • Use of advanced ultrafast laser spectroscopy methods, such as time-resolved two-photon photoemission (tr-2PPE), to understand surface electronic structure and charge carrier dynamics

  • Combine experimental results with density functional theory (DFT) simulations from project partners to analyse charge transfer and recombination processes

  • Communication of results through publications and conference participation

Requirements
