Offer Description
The Sleep Revolution is looking for a postdoctoral researcher (or research specialist) for the Horizon 2020 project, sponsored by the European Commission (no. 965417). The project is led by Reykjavik University (RU) with a large network of partners in Europe and Australia. The research partners are academic, industry and health institutions. The work is highly inter-disciplinary with involvement from four departments; Department of Engineering, Computer Sciences, Sport Science and Psychology.
The postdoctoral position will play a key role in the digitalization part of the project, which has the goal to create a revolution in digital health in general, and personalized sleep in particular. Within the project we have been designing and developing a digital infrastructure that consists of a novel, cutting-edge digital platform and a mobile application which we would like to further develop and research the impact of. The digital platform is built through a layered-modular architectural approach and the research opportunities would therefore both be architectural, as well as socio-technical.
The post-doctoral candidate would continue their studies, carry out writing of research papers and further increase expertise in a specialist subject to acquire novel skills and research methods with a focus on the intersection between sleep research and information systems research. Based on that, we would like to hire a postdoctoral candidate, preferably with the background in information systems, informatics or computer science, with a will to continue to develop a research profile within that area.
Position Responsibilities also require the management of undergraduate and graduate students in conjunction with academic staff.
In your application please address which area of the Sleep Revolution project you would focus on in your post doctoral research, information on the project can be found here:
