Scientific Programmer f/m (Python / Qt / C++)

Help to better understand materials and physical and chemical processes at the atomic level. Our high-resolution electron-optical components make important contributions in many areas of the most recent research in materials sciences as well as in life sciences all over the world. 

Your Job:

In a team of software developers and physicists you work on design, implementation and test of our system and application software for data acquisition, image analysis and microscope control.

Our Expectations:

• good skills in Python development,
• experience with the Qt Library for the implementation of user interfaces,
• no worries about concurrent programming (multi-processing, multi-threading, async-io),
• sound understanding of numpy and related techniques for numerical processing,
• good knowledge of Linux as well as Windows (cross-platform development),
• some knowledge in C/C++ programming including OpenMP would be beneficial.

If you enjoy programming and science and technology in general then we can offer an exciting and demanding job.  Practical experience with electron microscopy and other optical equipment is not necessarily important. We will provide training on the job. Applications from scientist with a strong programming background are explicitly welcome. Good knowledge of the German language is a must. The team language is German.
