TYPE OF CONTRACTOther
The 36th cycle of the PhD in Environmental Sciences is designed to research solutions to the various global issues (environment, ecology, social development) with the aim of promoting an interdisciplinary approach. The main objective is to examine and develop knowledge of the environmental system dynamics through improving the quality of the available data, refining the understanding of the processes in place (through the development of assessment techniques and adaptation of the security networks) and perfecting the information gathered (macroscale) from higher levels of modelisation.
Through the acquisition of a sound and extremely interdisciplinary background in analysis of environmental system dynamics and their issues, the PhD graduates will be able to incorporate themselves into all potential areas in which environmental research is carried out (Italian and overseas universities, private and public research bodies, authorized environmental protection corporations and, importantly, private or shared private-public businesses and organisations involved in the research and management of environmental issues).
Candidates are required to have certified English proficiency at least B2 level - under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) - at the time of enrolment, except for the possibility of acquiring it subsequently, by no later than December 31st, 2020, otherwise they will be excluded from the PhD Programme (see art. 3, paragraph 6 of the call).

Gross amount of the scholarship approximately € 56,500.00 (50% increase in the monthly scholarship for research periods abroad and annual budget for national and international research activities - € 1,534.00 during the 2nd and 3rd year- not included).
Candidates will be admitted to the PhD programme after passing a selection process (evaluation of academic qualifications, written and/or oral examination) according to the conditions indicated in the call.
