Offer Description
Through investigations in the archives (historical cartography and toponymy, literary and epigraphic sources of the classical and medieval ages), libraries (for the most recent literature) and on the territory, with targeted prospections, the research activity will be aimed at identifying the settlements in the territory, the main and/or secondary roads, the relations between roads - settlements - territory and will try to reconstruct the models of occupation and control of Barbaria in Roman and Byzantine times along the route represented by the via per Mediterranea indicated by the Itinerarium Antonini (III sec. AD).

Eligible candidates are required to possess one of following titles/qualifications:
- PhD’s (or equivalent foreign qualification) in all relevant sectors of expertise
- Post-graduate (medical field) with an suitable number/quality of publications
OR
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree obtained within the Italian pre-reform 4-year university course system, issued by an Italian University or an equivalent foreign institution PLUS scientific professional certification of research experience, for a period of at least two (2) years.
Failure to comply with the afore-mentioned provisions will result in exclusion from the competition.
