The Institute of Alte Geschichte und Altertumskunde, Papyrologie und Epigraphik is devoted to research into the Greek, Roman and Etruscan world with all its facettes and stresses the importance of the use of primary sources (literature, papyri, inscriptions and coins) in research and teaching. The advertised job is that of an "Assistent*in Post doc" with a focus on Greek history. Applications should include a CV and a list of publications.

Active participation in research and teaching (with a focus on Greek epigraphy) and administration:
- Developing and strengthening the independent research profile
- International publications and presentations
- Independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
- Supervision of students
- Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance

PhD in a field of the Ancient World, in particular Ancient History. Conditiones sine quibus non are the mastering of Ancient Greek, Latin and the usual modern languages and experience in Greek epigraphy. The experience of research abroad is welcome.
