MARIE CURIE GRANT AGREEMENT NUMBER860322
We are looking for highly qualified and talented graduate students (early-stage researchers (ESRs)) with an MSc degree (or equivalent) in chemistry or related fields.
The ESR will join the research group Innovation in Catalysis (InnCat) of the Rovira i Virgili University, and will develop a doctoral Thesis in partnership with the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination de Toulouse, France. The PhD project will deal with the development of new homogeneous transition metal catalysts for the asymmetric hydroaminomethylation of alkenes and will include organic and organometallic synthesis and characterisation by state of the art methods, catalytic testing using high pressure autoclaves and use of standard analytical techniques. This enantioselective tandem process will produce molecules of biological and medicinal interest in one step.
All Applications will be evaluated on the basis of academic and research excellence of the candidates. Their creativity and level of independence will also be considered. International and intersectorial experience will be seen positively in the evaluation.
The selected graduate Student will have a full-time contract for a 3-year period, in order to achieve a double Doctoral degree. Enrolment as a PhD student and employment: no later than 1st October 2020.
This thesis will be part of an International Training Network (ITN) and more specifically a European Joint Doctorate (EJD), funded by the European Commission through the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA), entitled "Coordination Chemistry Inspires Molecular Catalysis" (CCIMC). This programme involves 15 joint theses. You are encouraged to consider all these thesis projects, to be consulted on the ITN-EJD website www.ccimc.eu."
