The Director of the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology University of Warsaw

Competition for a research assistant professor

Research group

Number of positions open: one

Job requirements:

The successful candidate will fill requirements explicated in art.109 point 1 of the Higher Education Law (Law Journal 2018, item 1668 amended), and the following:

1. Post – doctoral degree in archaeology of Sudan

2. specialization in archaeology in Sudan

3. more than 10 years of experience in research in Sudan

4. knowledge of local culture and communicative Arabic

5. experience in editing of journals and monographs

6. leading of project organized in Sudan (at least one)

7. experience in organization archaeological mission on desert area in Sudan

Required documents:

1. application to the Rector for employment as adjunct with doctoral degree from 1.05.2020 until 30.04.2021 including signed agreement to processing personal data (Information clause and consent clause)

2. scientific curriculum with information on research achievements, organizational achievements and list of publications

3. questionnaire (to be downloaded from the UW webpage)

4. copy of Phd diploma in archaeology

5. Statement on reading and accepting the rules for job applications for a position of an academic teacher at the University of Warsaw ( form attached)

Applications and required documents should be submitted by mail pcma@uw.edu.pl or in person by 19.03.2020 to the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology University of Warsaw, 4 Nowy Świat St., room 213.

The results of the competition will be announced by 10.04.2020. It is the first stage of the employment process for academic teachers set down in the UW Statute; a positive result is essential to proceed further.

PCMA UW reserves the right to change the competition deadline and to interview selected candidates. Candidates will be informed individually about interview dates.
